Hi, Emma, welcome on BE! Magazine. Had you ever thought of becoming a glamour model or did it “just happen”?
I’ve always wanted to become a model but never really thought about doing glamour, and I never in a million years thought that anything would ever happen. It all started when I went to the Clothes Show Live in Birmingham, where I was scouted by a model agency who suggested that I should do glamour modelling due to my big boobs. However, the agency turned out to be fake and I ended up paying almost £600 for photographs; I was very disappointed but it made me realize how much I wanted to model. After that I sent my pictures off to all the lads magazines and glamour agencies which ended up with me signing exclusivley to the Girl Management agency and also landing a contract with ZOO magazine.

You have been modelling for magazines for a little more than 2 years if I remember correctly. How have they been these 2 last years?
The last two years have been tough but I’ve loved every minute.
When I first started modelling I had just started my second year of university and at first I was struggling to manage my work load. I was missing lectures and seminars whilst taking days off to travel down to London to work, which meant that I was always behind everyone and always trying to catch up on everything I’d missed. I even considered dropping out of university to concentrate on modelling full time. However, my lecturers and family were all very supportive and were always there if I got stressed or fell behind and needed help, and in the end persuaded me to stick it out. I’ve met so many cool people whilst modelling, and made alot of really good friends as well as travelled to some lovely places to work, such as Portugal, Ibiza, South of France, Hamburg. I always have so much fun when I’m working and feel so lucky to have been given this opportunity.

Precisely, what do you love and what do you hate about your job?
I love being contracted to NUTS magazine at the moment, I’m working with the best team of people, they are all so lovely and we always have so much fun whilst shooting. The girls that I work with on the shoots are all like my best friends now and we call ourselves the family. I also love the agency that I’m signed to, I call them my London family because they always look after me. I love never knowing what job I’m going to be doing next, and so far no two shoots have ever been the same, so I never get bored!
I especially enjoy travelling abroad to shoot, because the sun makes me happy and it never feels like work, it’s just like going on holiday with friends. The only thing I hate about my job is the way in which glamour models are percieved by some people. There seems to be a stereotype that all glamour models are stupid, ‘wanna be WAGS‘ and sleep around. This is not the case! I have a degree in sport and exercise science, I’ve never even met a footballer, and I’ve never had a one night stand!

Do you ever “hate” your boobs for stealing the attention from your face and rest of your body?
I’d never ever hate my boobs because if it wasn’t for them I wouldn’t have such an amazing job, met lots of great people and travelled the world.

You study sports science, how is university going? What do you plan to do with your studies?
I graduated from university last June with a  2:1, I was intending on training to become a PE teacher before I started modeling. However now I am considering going back to university to study to become a dietician.

You are a great dancer I heard, do you keep it a hobby or wish to make it a real job someday?
Becoming a professional dancer is just as hard as becoming a model and now that i’m 22 I think I’m a little too old to try and break into that side of the industry, even though I wanted to become a dancer even before I wanted to start modelling. But I love dancing and will continue doing it as a hobby for now and, if the opportunity arose for me to dance professionally, then that would be a dream come true. I have considered becoming a dance teacher in the future, but for now I’m just going to continue modelling for as long as I can and if anything else happens then that would be an added bonus.

You also mention pole dance among your hobbies. Do you perform it as a sport exercise or to seduce men?
I go to pole dancing because its one of the best forms of exercise I’ve ever done. It’s so hard to learn and works every muscle in the body, but I love it because it’s really fun and since I started it has really toned me up. If ever I’m out with my friends and I see a pole in a club I have to jump on it and have a go, but the moves never look quite as good after I’ve had a few drinks, and the last time I tried it I fell off and broke my big toe; so from now on I try to control myself and only stick to pole dancing in the studio!

Be for a moment a tourism promoter for your city, Stoke-on-Trent, tell us about it
Stoke-on-Trent now has a population exceeding 360,000. Since the 17th century it has been famous for manufacturing pottery on an industrial scale. Firms such as Minton, Royal Doulton, Spode and Wedgewood were all established here. The city is one of the 100 top business locations in the UK.  Stoke-on-Trent is internationally known for the world’s finest ceramics and it has also become an important tourist destination. Stoke-on-Trent’s main shopping area is in Hanley.  Here, the Potteries Shopping Centre houses a number of independent specialist retailers as well as established high street names, great for the latest fashion trends.  Hanley is also home to the Cultural Quarter of Stoke on Trent. The city has 5 main theatres that always show a number of high class productions, along with several cinemas showing the latest films. The city also has a reputation for lively nightlife with numerous restaurants, bars and clubs. Stoke on Trent has two Football League clubs: Stoke City FC, who play at the Britannia Stadium and are currently in the Premier League and Port Vale FC who are in League 2.

The vote is secret, but being an actuality topic I have to ask: have you voted at the last UK elections? How much do you follow politics?
To be honest I don’t really follow politics as I find it very boring and I didn’t vote this year because I was on holiday in the Dominican Republic at the time of the election!! Although I thought that it was a good idea to televise the three party leaders in their debates and I did watch a couple of episodes, and found it quite interesting.

In Italy there is a lot of discussion (even the President of the Republic has said his opinion) about topless/nude women on tv or magazines; many are against it to the point of being downright censors. I take things in the United Kingdom are somewhat differents, but how?
I think people in the UK must just be more open minded to nakedness, the human body is a beautiful thing and it should be celebrated. It doesn’t physically hurt anyone by seeing a topless woman in a magazine, and in many countries if you travel on holiday many of the women go topless on the beach, so what is the difference!? I think it is very sad that people disagree with glamour models going topless, but if a fashion model goes topless or in some cases nude it is viewed in a completely different way, and is accepted as art!

British photoshoots frequently feature two models ore more; do you get along with other models? Can you name some you consider friends or at least see outside your workplace?
All glamour models that I have met have all been lovely and I’ve made some really good friends. Some of which include Leah Francis, Emma Glover, Rosie Jones, Lindsey Strutt, Kelly Andrews and Rhian Sugden. We try to meet up and go out together as much as possible outside of work, but sometimes it’s hard because we all live in different parts of the country, but whenever we do meet up we always have a great time and lots of fun!

If you could pick any male model, actor, sportsman or celebrity as partner in a photoshoot, who would it be? Why? And what set would you like to share with him?
If I could choose anyone then it would have to be either Robert Pattinson or Ian Somerhalder, whichever one is avaliable, because both are absolutely gorgeous. I really wouldn’t mind what sort of set we shot on, as long as it involved as little clothes as possible! (she laughs)

How do you see yourself in a 10 years? Married with children, still modelling or something completely different?
To be honest I really don’t know, I’m not thinking about the future, I love my job at the moment and I’m taking everyday as it comes and making the most of it while it lasts!

What is your relationship with technology? Are you on Facebook/Twitter, etc?
I’m not very good with technology, I have a facebook page that I try to keep up to date with, but I don’t really enjoy sitting at my laptop for hours. I also have a website, www.emmafrain.co.uk, that I write a blog for and try to keep it up to date as much as possible.
I don’t have a Twitter page at the moment, but I recently found out that someone else is actually impersonating me on Twitter, so I need to try and get that stopped before I can set up a Twitter page myself!

Last question is about Italy: ever been there? Would you like to? And what do you think about the Italians?
I love the Italians, the people that I’ve met so far always seem so friendly and happy… and passionate! I used to work in my uncles’ pub when I was younger and the chef that worked there was Italian, and he was so lovely and always happy and singing and he made the most amazing food. I’ve never been to Italy but I will definitely travel there sometime soon, I’d love to do some sight seeing and visit all the historical places and landmarks, and I can’t wait to sample the food!! I may need a tour guide (she smiles)

Let’s start with a classic question: at what age and how did you enter modelling?
I started modeling some around age 16. At first I didn’t like it, because I was put into beauty contests where I didn’t feel I could express myself the way I wanted to, but after I got into photoshoot modeling, I loved it and my career took off.
My first real taste of modeling happened in fitness. Yes, I was first a fitness model. My career as a fitness model was very successful, which prompted me to continue going strong into mainstream fashion and beauty modeling as well.

As a model, you have done all sorts of different works, from more fashion (Guess) to men’s magazine, to your own site photoshoots; which of those are you more proud of?
That is a good question. Actually, I’m proud of all of them in different ways. Some of my accomplishments in modeling have been more public than others, so of course things like magazine covers and layouts are very exciting, because everyone gets to see it on the newsstands. My work with Guess Jeans was great, because I was discovered by them on MySpace, which is extremely rare and literally never happens. This made me feel great! Yes, I’m so proud of my website, because it reflects all my hard work. It embodies everything about me from top to bottom and from a-z. I work constantly 24/7 to keep it current and very entertaining!!!

You’ve been mentioned in several lists of “the most beautiful women in the world”. But do you like yourself or are you one of those models always looking for small flaws and never 100% satisfied with themselves?
I really try not to be “one of those models” you are talking about. When beautiful women become so obsessed with themselves, they are really miserable people to be around. No one understands them either. Deep insecurity is a terrible thing, because there is no easy cure. People will always have flaws, and it’s not always a bad thing. It’s a human thing and a beautiful thing to be “real“.
I don’t think any woman in the world is ever 100% satisfied with herself, especially if her job is looking sexy and stunning. However, I believe there is a happy medium where you can strive for improvement, yet you don’t make it extreme or let it consume your life.
I’m in a business where women are constantly put under a microscope. People want to find their flaws… it’s human nature. I try not to let it bother me. I’m thankful for the beauty that I have and I feel very blessed.

You have an outstanding physical asset, so I must ask you two questions on this topic… and, no, I’m not talking of your wonderful green eyes. Are your breasts natural?
Thank you! I feel very lucky to be one of the rare and few that have naturally large breasts on a slim frame. I’ve had them since 11th grade. However, once I lost a lot of weight during a time when I was training daily with a personal trainer. I only weighed 115 llbs. I was solid muscle, skin and bones. Very tiny for me! My breasts got smaller too, so I’ll never let that happen again. Real boobs require real food, so I must eat to maintain my curves!! (she smiles)

Ok, a less common question now: have your breasts ever been a handicap? For example in a casting where they were looking for a skinny model…
Sure. Unfortunately, big boobs are not desirable for high fashion modeling. Fashion models are typically flat-chested or no larger than a 34B. Designers want you to see the clothes, not the model’s curves.
Yes, there have been times when designers have really liked my face and height, but decided not to work with me based on my bust size. It’s a reality. There are pros and cons to everything. You have to take the good with the bad. (she smiles)

At what conditions would you pose for a Playboy-style full nude, if there’s any?
I have been approached by Playboy 4-5 times in the past few years. It is always extremely flattering, but the offers are never quite tempting enough for me.
I have been offered Playmate twice, and the last time they told me that Playmate of the Year was looking very possible for me as well. However, models are offered compensated by way of “cash and prizes” and if you boil it all down along with their business requirements – it is not worth it in my opinion. Playboy is an iconic magazine, but it’s definitely not what it used to be.
I would much rather pose nude on my own website!!!

Have you grown tired of people mentioning Angelina Jolie when they talk about you or do you still enjoy the touchstone?
Well, obviously, she’s a talented actress and legendary sex symbol well-known throughout the entire world, so the comparison is mind-blowingly gracious and I could never be tired of it, but at the same time I want people to know that I’m my own person. I’m not trying to be like Angelina. We are different in so many ways. We share a similar face, ethnic heritage, and maybe somewhat of a similar posing style, but that’s probably where it ends. I’m a big Angie fan and I always will be, but I’d love to see her return to her roots and go back to her black hair and curvy body.

Have you ever met her?
Nope, I have never had the pleasure of meeting her.

Here in Italy almost every celebrity has been on a reality show… Have you ever been asked to join one? Would you like to try this experience?
I’m not a big fan of reality television… or television in general. I never watch it. I don’t subscribe to any provider of channels either. I gave-up TV almost a year ago to concentrate more on my business, and so far it has worked and I haven’t missed TV at all.
If someone asked me to be a part of a reality show my participation would greatly depend on the show’s platform and the amount of income and exposure offered. I’m very choosy about my work. I tend to believe that most reality shows are not truly about boosting actor’s and model’s careers long-term, but rather it’s a vehicle for them to make complete fools of themselves on national television. Maybe not all reality television is like this??? I hope not.
I would try the experience if it was positive and helpful to my career, absolutely. I would like to have my own show, so I could be in control of it. That would be the best!!!

If you had to choose only one, friends, love or success?
That’s a really tough choice, but I think “love” is the best bet.

You said that don’t own a fancy cell phone but what is your take on technology in general?
Good question!!! (she smiles) I could never say that I don’t totally appreciate advances in technology, especially being that I depend on a computer 100% for my business. I think technology is remarkable and incredibly helpful to mankind when it is applied to the right things such as medicine, for example.
I’m just down on the overuse of cell phones and the whole idea that you must have one glued to your ear at all times. It’s silly. I think the giant wireless companies are sitting back and laughing their asses off as they count their money. They are so happy that the masses of “sheeps” have bought into trend. And I do believe these devices have made many people lazier, more obese, less capable, and less aware of what’s really important in the world. It’s important to communicate, but most of what people are using cell phones for is complete non-sense.
I never want my life to revolve around a hand-held device. I guess there are worst things in the world, but this particular issue gets under my skin like no other.

How important is the Web for a model? Do you think that fans’ support alone can make you score photoshoots for big magazines or it isn’t enough?
Now, with the Internet being so extremely popular and widely used for entertainment, I believe magazines and television are taking a backseat to its power. So many people would rather surf the Net than watch tv and be burdened with all those annoying commercials. If a model is super popular online, she no longer ‘needs’ magazines unless it’s solely for an ego blast… and in the future this will become more and more of a mainstay. There have been many magazines that have went under because of the Net and many others are in financial trouble as well. In fact, Playboy is one of them!

So, you’re just launched a renewed website. How often do you update it? What can people find in the Members Area?
Yes, my new website is www.danahamm.com. Currently, I update my site about 5-7 times per week.
My members get access to my professional photo sets, candid snapshots, HD videos, candid videos, diary, erotic stories, webcam chat, phone chat, Skyping, emailing, guest models, and more!!!

Your fans have also the chance to chat with you… What’s the funniest/weirdest question they’ve ever asked? (if it’s something you can repeat…)
Yep, I do chat and webcam with many of my fans and members. It’s a lot of fun and interesting to meet people from all walks of life. The majority of my fans are very very kind and generous people.
Believe it or not, I’ve not had any super strange questions or requests. People are typically very normal and respectful. They are always nice and charming!! I’m lucky!

In this section the last topic is always Italy… I think you’ve been here, right? When? Did you like Italians? What do you miss most? Will you come again?
Yes, I have been to Italy and I absolutely loved it! I visited Florence, Rome, and Rimini. I was there for work, but I did get to sight-see a few days on my own. I loved everything about it. The culture, the countryside, the fashion, the architecture, the food, the people, and the weather! The only thing I didn’t like was the exchange rate for the US dollar. (she laughs) I look forward to coming back very soon to make a movie with a small film company out of Rome.

Hello, Natali and welcome on BE! Magazine. What about your origins? You have a Greek name, but you were born in Belgrade…
Hello everybody! I am half Greek half Serbian.

Have you always dreamed of being a performer or were your wishes different, when you were a little girl?
I’ve always wanted to sing and perform, it has always been my dream.

What’s the part of your job you like the most? Posing for the cameras, being on stage, editing a new song or…?
Singing is definitely what I prefer!

So, you’re not just a gorgeous girl, but also a singer. Your first song has been “Why not?” and your second single, “Summer Night” is coming out soon. What can you tell us about your music?
My song “Why not?” was a hit in Greece and it still plays everywhere; “Summer Night” is my new cd single and it’s released in 3 languages: Serbian, Greek and English. It is a duet with famous Serbian tv star Ognjen Amidzic, produced by Eurosong 2007 winner, Vladimir Grajic.

What is “Dream Life”?
“Dream life” is my first organizations group; through it, we’ve organized parties all over Europe, where I was singing and dancing.

Let’s talk about modeling now. Maybe the highest point of your career so far has been the title of “Playmate of the Year 2007″ in Greece you’ve achieved. How was your experience with this legendary brand? Were you embarassed during that hot sexy photoshoot?
I don’t think being Playmate of the Year has been the highest point of my career, since I’ve done more than 10 cover pages for the best magazines in Greece and Serbia, like Max, Maxim, Nitro, Madame Figaro, Playboy…

Your career is growing abroad, too. In which foreign country have you been more appreciated, in your opinion?
My cd “Summer Night” is released all over Balkan countries and my plan is to expand my career abroad as much as I can

I’ve talked to a couple of Greek models before and they told me they don’t like the Greek modeling scene at all… they dream to move abroad, possibly in the USA. What’s your opinion on this topic?
(she smiles) America is one of the places where I’d like to expand my career, of course

Have you always been a blonde? Wouldn’t you like to see how you’d look like as a brunette?
I’m a natural blonde and I’m happy with my hair colour

I’ve read your biography and honestly I think it’s the first time I find some books’ titles in a model’s bio. Do you read so much?
Yes, I read very much!

A little gossip now… Are you single or engaged?
I am single! (she smiles)

Welcome Barbara on BE! Magazine. Is this your first interview for an italian site?
Thank you for taking the time to hear what I have to say! (she smiles) Yes, this is actually my first time in an italian site.

Introduce yourself a bit to our readers…
How do I start? My name is Barbara Darinka Zatler, I’m 28 years old and living in Denmark, where I work as a model on an international basis. Besides that, I do some acting, but I also have my own column in a women’s lifestyle magazine, so I’m a writer also…
I have roots in Italy, Slovenia and Denmark, so I’m quite a mix, which I’m proud of. My hobbies are animals, reading and painting… and of course my family and friends. I’ve been modeling for nearly 8 years now and I’m gonna keep on doing it as long as I can.

Many magazines, and soon Playboy too, and some movies in your credits; do you like more posing or acting?
Hmm… I think I like both things the same, but in acting I can make a longer lasting career, ’cause modeling only takes you a step of the way till you are too old… In acting there are no rules on how old you can or can not be.

Your photos have been published on magazines from several countries, including Denmark, Slovenia, Greece, Turkey, UK and USA. Do you prefer to see your photos on a magazine “for men” (all about sexy half-naked models) or on a classic magazine with a wider “target”?
I prefer to keep my clothes on! (she laughs) No, I don’t really think that much about it. I feel very comfortable with my body, so for me it doesn’t matter if I have clothes on or just a small bikini… For me it’s work and I love it. But also FHM and Maxim display nice pictures and not too much skin showing. But of course I also like when I do fashion… it’s great to have some very nice clothes on and it’s not so cold!

And about Playboy, is it a natural choice, an useful move for the career or a magazine like any other?
Playboy for me is a big achievement, I always wanted to be a playmate and my dream came true! It has been hard work, but I’m proud of myself for keeping on following my dream. So I would say it was a natural choice, but also a useful move for my career.

Do you think Playboy Slovenia is going to be your hottest photoshoot ever? I’ve browsed some galleries on your official website and seen some implicit nudes… Will you show some more for Playboy? Do you feel comfortable naked on a photographic set?
(she laughs) I hope so, but I can’t say before I’ve seen my pictures; the shoot was great and the people are very professional, so I trust them to pick the best shots in the bunch. I was full nude, but only my breasts are showing on the pictures, so no, I will not show more than you can see already on my website… that’s where my boundaries are.
Well, I rest in myself, so I do not have problems with being naked, but I do not prefer to run around butt naked in front of the photographer… but work is work!

And do you have a good relation with your naked body? Do you like it all or is there something you’d like to change of it?
I like my body and I feel good about it. Of course there’s always something you would like to change about yourself, I think we all have that feeling sometimes, but be thankful for what you got!

Do you travel a lot for your job? How is Denmark for a model?
Sometimes I have to travel for my work, but mostly my work is in Denmark or they hire a Danish photographer to do the shoot and that’s great! (she smiles)
Denmark is not the best place for models, ’cause it’s a small country and many girls want to be a model, so the competition is huge. Also Denmark is not a good place for glamour models, as they don’t get enough recognition for their work, unlike in the US.

Your mother is half Slovenian and half Italian, your father is Danish and you live in Denmark. What relationship do you have with your mother’s roots?
Yes, that’s correct and I’m very proud of my roots and where I come from. Almost all of my mother’s relatives have passed away. But as a child we were often in Slovenia and Italy and I loved it very much… I still visit both countries as often as I can and I will keep on doing it till the day I die. I’ve just been in Slovenia and I was on this mountain top, where the view was so beautiful, with Trieste below and the seaside also… wow, it was breathtaking!

And in particular with Italy (and with the Italians)?
My mother is from Trieste, where she grew up and I like it there… it’s near the sea, so it’s a nice place that’s so near to Slovenia, too, that I can visit both places by car.
I love Italian food and also the people are very kind and open people. In Denmark it’s just opposite, people are not open and very kind… so I love it when I’m in Italy or Slovenia, where you feel the warm and welcoming from the people.

You know our former “beauty from the other world” Claudia Romani. Are you planning to “invade” Italy just like she “invaded” Denmark? And do you have many friends among models or is there too much competition for a friendship?
Yes, I know that sweet girl! She’s one of the very few models I like, all the Danish girls are too much into competing, so it’s not possible to be friends with them. It’s sad, but it’s true, so I have my real friends among people who does not work in the model industry.
Well, about invading Italy, I hope to get some jobs there, ’cause I have this relationship with the country… so for me it would be great to both visit and work in Italy in the future.

I see you have a Twitter account and you are very active, too. What is your relationship with pc’s and technology in general?
(she laughs) Yes, I was, but these last few days I’ve been a bit lazy with it and haven’t tweeted that much!
It depends on what I have to do… I can use the internet! (she smiles) I think I’m doing okay actually, I haven’t been in need of calling help just yet and I use Mac and have an Iphone… just so you can get an idea of what I use in my daily time. But sometimes they piss me off when things don’t go as they should… I wanna throw them out of the window, but I behave myself, of course, and just paint the picture in my head! (she laughs)

Thanks to magazines and internet, you’ve built a global fanbase. Do your fans often flirt with you via email or messages? Is there a rule we shouldn’t break if we want to flirt with you?
Do I really have those?! (she smiles) I mostly get sweet and complimenting mails from people, but I do not flirt with people on the internet. I think I’m a very serious person and my website and profiles are only for promotional use. But if someone should flirt with me, then be polite and in no way perverted.

Hi NikkiLee, welcome back on BE! Magazine for the full interview you really deserved. Let’s start from the beginning… How did you enter modelling? Is there any special episode in your first days you like to remember?
I fell into modelling by accident, I used to be a backing dancer, and one night the singer I danced for informed me that my dancing partner was ill, so I wasn’t needed… but to get in the club for free, I had to photocopy my boobs and so I did. That night the club had my picture on stage!!! I really can’t answer that, I’m just grateful that so many people took the time to vote for me… they must have a thing for busty blondes, I guess! (she laughs) But the other three girls were simply stunning

We can’t deny this means you’ve also got many internet fans… Do you like to make friends online? Do you keep contact with your internet fans?
I am an internet geek, I’m on all the sites, Twitter, Myspace, Facebook, etc…

You’ve faced Nicole Lazzarini, Flavia and Jeneffa. Which one of the three is the prettiest girl, for your taste?
All three were stunning in all different ways, each had their own sexiness about them

Cars have often been linked with your career: you’ve won Fast Car Wannabe, you’ve been Miss Fast & Furious, Miss Promo for USC and winner of Breast of Britain. Did it just happen by chance or are you fond of cars? Is there any special model you like? And are you fascinated by man who drive nice cars?
I love my cars, I modified my car years ago, and got approached to work at a show… and it went from there: I built up a strong fan base that never let me down if I’m in any competitions! (she smiles)
My fave car is a Subaru or, as we call them, “Scooby”… They sound so hot! I do like a man who handles his machine well!

When Italians think of famous British glamour models, they all have something in common: big boobs! Why are British men so obsessed with boobs? Shouldn’t it be a peculiarity of mediterranean women?
I have no idea why English men love big boobs, but I’m not fussed: I have sexy large ones and they work for me! (she smiles) I wish they were bigger, though!

You’re one of those models with huge breasts, so I have to ask you… Have you ever got the impression to “walk in their shadow”? Aren’t you annoyed at all when men can’t look you in your eyes for long?
Nah, it’s funny… I ask them what colour my eyes are and most of the times they tell me my bra size! My boobs are there to be looked at, so I can’t complain.

Another feature you’re proud of is your blondeness. Hasn’t your hair ever been dark? Don’t you have to fight against the prejudice “blonde means dumb”?
I was born with this colour, I got it from my nan, I have no idea if it will go dark when I’m older, but my nan was blonde till the day she passed away. A lot of people think I’m lucky to have this colour, but I’d kill to be a curly haired brunette! Oh well, I could always buy a wig, I guess! (she smiles)
And no, it doesn’t bother me the dumb blonde tag: when you meet me, you understand that I’m far from that tag!

How’s the modelling world in England? Would you recommend it to a young girl who’d like to try it? Is it easy to make a good career if you deserve it, or does it all depend on “sponsors”, possibly sexually-related to the girl?
Modelling in the U. K. sucks at the moment, there are too many girls who think they can model… and do so for free! Hence, less work for professionals! It’s really hard work, it has taken me ages to get to this stage of my career, but I love it; I wouldn’t recommend it, though: I’ve had many lows, as well as highs. It’s not easy to make a living from it, I’m just being honest.
If you’re lucky enough to get sponsored by someone or taken on by a good agency, you can have an easy ride… or if you’re really desperate, sleep your way to the top, but remember people always find out!!! I’d rather be known for my hard work, than for who I slept with to get the part!

Is there a type of photography you prefer?
I simply love glamour: the big hair, big eyelashes, wind machine… I just feel at home doing that style! I can pull of commercial and fetish too, though (she smiles)

I know there’s a movie coming up for you! What can you already tell us about it?
I got a part in a film called “Thugs, Mugs and Violence”: it’s very gritty and very eastend, my manner! (she smiles) I play a spoilt girl, who gets kidnapped. I can’t give too much away, you’ll have to wait and see, but it should be out at Christmas… and you’ll actually get to hear me scream my boobs off!

And is there any other chance for your fans to admire you in the near future?
There are quite a few projects in the pipeline, I have just become the face of a swimwear range called Rockardi, we’ll be shooting for that soon and doing press and tv… I’m very excited about that! I’m also doing more ring girl work for boxing and cage fighting matches, plus I’ll always do my car and bike shows! (she smiles) My website has all the latest info

Are you single or engaged at the moment? How’s your ideal man?
I’m single at the moment, no one can put up with my hectic work load, so… there’s any offers? I like curries and a man who can make me giggle!

The only word that comes to my mind is sexy! Is that ok for you lot?

Hello, Kristen, and welcome on BE! Magazine. How can you introduce yourself to all our Italian readers who have never heard of you?
Hello, my name is Kristen DeLuca from the United States and I am an actress, and also a model living in Hollywood, California!

“De Luca” is a very common surname in Italy… Do you have Italian origins?
Yes, I am Italian… My father’s side of the family is Sicilian!

So, let’s start from the beginning, how did you enter “the showbiz”? With beauty pageants? What do you remember of that period?
I have been a “performer” ever since I was a little girl, in gymnastics and cheerleading. I loved being in front of crowds and on stages. My first beauty pageant was “Miss Teen Ohio” and I also did one in my small hometown of Brunswick, Ohio, as well. I was the winner of “Homecoming Court” my Junior year in high school, too. My passion was more in regards to modeling, with the ultimate dream to become a big actress in Hollywood… So, I guess you can say that I was born for this! (she smiles)

You’ve posed naked for Playboy in 2005. Posing for Playboy is a dream for many women all around the world… Did you feel it was something special, a turning point in your career?
Playboy was my ultimate dream and goal ever since I was young. My family has always been supportive of me and when I achieved that dream, they were tremendously proud of me! Being a Playboy model definitely helped me to acquire many “fans” around the world, and I am grateful for that. But, I never wanted people to only look at me for my “outer” beauty. Which is why I am very glad to have the opportunities that I do now with my acting career. People can see that I have the ability to portray different characters on television and in movies. I want to be viewed for my talents, my dreams, my personality, and success, etc. Outside beauty will fade, and if you aren’t a beautiful person inside, then none of that outward appearance truly matters!

It has been the hottest photoshoot in your modeling career… Were you nervous before shooting or embarassed on the set?
I wasn’t nervous at all. It was a dream of mine, so it seemed a bit natural for me in front of the camera. I always have a great time at photoshoots. You have to be comfortable in your own skin to be able to pose for Playboy. I loved it! Playboy has always been very good to me and I am so thankful to have been a part of their family!

Okay, I know this is an embarassing question, but it will be understood only by people who have seen the full set: do you still have “that” piercing?
I sure do! (she laughs)

Do you miss those blonde days? Or do you think common people consider you more clever now that you’re a brunette?
Sometimes I miss the blonde days, but not too much. I enjoy being a brunette (which is my natural color) and I am taken more seriously this way, too. Many people consider platinum blonde girls to be ditzy and bitchy. I am neither of those descriptions, but it is hard to fight stereotypes. Since I am acting now, I want to be viewed as a “serious actress” who will have a very long career span. Being a bleached blonde probably wouldn’t work out too well for that! Now, if I get a role in the future where they want my hair blonde, I would dye it in a heartbeat! (But only for a job, for a role)

In recent months, your career as actress has become more and more important. Will you quit modeling for full-time acting or do you plan to go on both ways?
I am a full-time actress. I still love modeling and when a modeling gig comes up, I will take it. I don’t think I will ever completely “give up” modeling, I just seem to focus a little less on it nowadays!

In Italy, we have beauties and tv characters often making movies without an acting background, but everybody says in America it’s different and even the most talented (and the most beautiful) stars have to study… Is it true? Are you studying or is being a Playboy model enough to get a role?
I study every week, take classes and workshops to stay on top of my game! Being a Playboy model is usually not a benefit. Most people don’t take girls who have posed nude seriously, so I have to work even harder to show them that I have great acting ability! I guess my focus is more on being viewed for my talents, rather than all of my looks (like I stated before in a previous question you asked me). I just feel that I have “moved on” from being viewed as a “sex symbol”, and now I want to be viewed as a serious actress! (she smiles)

Can you name some of the movies and tv series you’ve been in? That’s just to check if they’re broadcast in Italy…
Television Shows: “Eleventh Hour”, “Roommates”, “Knight Rider”, “Entourage”, “It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia”, “90210″, “My Boys”, “CSI:NY”, “The Bold & the Beautiful”, “The Young & the Restless”…

One I want to ask about is Knight Rider; not yet broadcast in Italy, but the original series is a cult of the 80′s (it was titled Supercar)… How was this experience?
It was tons of fun. I was a Russian assassin and I got to use a real machine gun (it was very heavy). I had a blast working on that show!

So, you play a killer and in other roles you side with “bad guys”. I’ve googled and I’ve found out you’ve got a University degree “cum laude” in Criminology. Do your studies help you when you have to play these mean roles?
Nope, I don’t think my degree helps with any roles that I have done so far. But you never know what could happen in the future. Perhaps I will be cast as a lawyer or a crime lab technician (then my degree will come in very handy!)

Another anticipated movie you’re in is “Fast & Furious 4″, out on April, the 17th, in Italy. What’s your role in it? And how’s Vin Diesel in person?
My role is “Dwight’s Girl“. He is one of the bad guys and I am his girl! There is a really steamy “make-out scene” involving women, but I can’t say too much about it right now. You’ll just have to go and watch it!
Everyone in that movie was very nice and down to Earth.

“Knight Rider”, “Fast & Furious”… You’re often associated with these amazing cars! But do you like cars? Do you drive fast? Are you attracted by men who drive one of those jewels?
(she laughs) I do not drive fast, it scares me. I also don’t like when guys try to “show off” by driving all crazy and fast. It’s a “turn off” for me. But I do like nice cars. I love Bentleys, Aston Martins, Range Rovers, Rolls Royces, Maybachs, etc… For me, a fancy car gets my attention. I’ve always been interested in luxury vehicles, they are just so much fun to look at!

I’ve read you’re single… And looking or not? Which qualities do you look for in a man?
Yep, I am single!!! …and I am not looking. I don’t have much time to go “out” with my friends or boyfriends for that matter. So, it wouldn’t be fair to be in a relationship, because I wouldn’t be able to put enough effort into it. When I am with someone, I like to spend as much time with them as I can. Plus, when I am in a relationship it is hard for me to focus the amount of energy that I need to on my career. So, for now I will remain single. (she smiles)
Qualities that I look for… Faithful, down to earth, confident, generous, polite, family-oriented, a nice smile, pretty eyes, good work ethic; someone who enjoys my company, someone who is at least 5 inches taller than me, because I wear high heels a lot!

Kristen in private: what do you like to do in your spare time?
I enjoy hiking, working out, spending time with my pets (I have a cat and two turtles), going out to the movies, going to dinners with friends, making scrapbooks…

You’re very active on internet, you’ve got myspace and facebook with thousands of friends (and also a fanpage). Do you have a webmaster or do you answer all the messages personally?
I personally run all of my sites and I answer everything myself!

Are your internet fans an important feedback for you?
Of course, I am grateful to have them support me and they give me more ambition to do my best at my career. I enjoy interacting with them!

You’ve got some some unusual tattoes and I know there’s a story behind… Can you tell us what they mean?
I have a tattoo on the back of my neck. It is Scooby Doo’s collar, it is in Memory of my Mother Sherri DeLuca, who passed away at the age of 45 from Brain Cancer on March 13, 2008. My Mom collected Scooby Doo figurines and stuffed animals, he was her favorite cartoon character… She also has the same initials as him, “S. D.“. My sister and I got matching ones together for my Mom.
My other tattoo is under my right armpit and it says “KARMA” (which means “what goes around comes around”). I believe that you should treat people the way you want to be treated and if you do something bad, then karma will make sure you get punished for it! My best friend Angela also got a tattoo underneath her right armpit, when I got mine done too, so we share that bond together (both tattooes are “hidden” because of my work and you can only see them if I purposely raise my arm up or have my hair in a ponytail). I only have 2 tattooes total and they both have great meaning to me.

I have never been to Italy… yet!!! But I imagine that I will someday in the near future!

Hello, Rob, and welcome on BE! Magazine. First of all, there are certainly many people who don’t watch wrestling reading this interview… So, how can you explain them what you do for a living?
A career in pro wrestling, especially at the top, involves year-round non-stop travel, to get from city to city to perform for thousands of fans all around the world. I am currently taking a break from that lifestyle, and only taking selected international bookings at my discretion, while I’ve got my hands on several other projects. I’ve always stood out as one of a kind: from my unique moves in the ring, to my uncompromising confidence, to my original perspectives on everything. This has made me stand out and has been good for business.

Your real name is Robert Szatkowski, but you’ve wrestled for almost your whole career under this ring name proposed by Ron Slinker. A ring name is very important in a career… Did you like it since the beginning?
Ron gave me that name in 1991, when I was still young and green in the business. At that time, I just wanted to learn, so the name wasn’t important to me, but it certainly stuck.

You’ve been the symbol of a whole federation (ECW) for a couple of years. Has all that popularity and responsability changed your way of wrestling or your way of thinking?
Because the ECW was such a non-traditional, rebel group, I really got in touch with my non-conforming nature and learned to take pride in being different and I loved that we had the platform to show everyone that pro wrestling could be very cool to watch.

All the fans who lived Extreme Championship Wrestling won’t easily forget it. Do you think there’s any federation around these days who could be somehow “the ideal son of ECW”?
The factors are too different for another ECW like we had. There are small organizations who pattern themselves after the extreme style, but they aren’t original; the competition will never be like it was during the Monday night ratings wars and they don’t have Paul Heyman.

What’s your honest opinion on Paul Heyman?
Paul was the best wrestling promoter to work for, if you cared about freedom of expression. As an artist, working under Paul’s tutelage helped mold me into the non-conforming superstar I became, but made it challenging to be compatible with WWE’s style.

And on Vince McMahon?
Vince is the man. Although he’s intimidating, he has never treated me with anything but respect. He obviously is a great businessman that no one can touch in his field.

Many people say you should have won “the big one” shortly after joining WWE, in 2001 or 2002 (PWI had ranked you as the most popular wrestler in both years and leader of the PWI500 in 2002)… but that didn’t happen. Were you frustrated about that or happy to still have a job and a quite important role, while several other members of the Alliance were being fired?
I was so frustrated by the adjustment to WWE style and politics that I’d often phone my wife, so she could talk me into staying. I’ve never felt like I needed a job or had to stay somewhere I wasn’t happy. I see hundreds of open doors on any given day and I felt more like they were lucky to have me there.

What was your first thought when somebody told you WWE wanted to bring back the name ECW?
I rejected the idea, because ECW is forever linked to the extreme wrestlers who made history as rebels, and most of them would not be able to step back in the ring like they did back then. After giving some thought to new recruits, I got behind the idea to revive the spirit and, just like everyone else, I was very disappointed to learn that Vince used a “bait-and-switch” tactic to get started and then turned his back on the original ECW to try to create something new.

2006, the most incredible year in your career. You’ve finally won the title all your fans were expecting and, 22 days after, 18 grams of marijuana costed you a 140 dollars’ fine and… a world title. Regrets? Does it still hurt?
I lost two world titles from that event and, considering how burnt out I was from the travel, I welcomed the time at home. I even asked for more time off when they wanted me to come back. Although I wasn’t happy that I had fucked up the plans for the ECW and the WWE, I have always felt proud to draw attention to the great injustice of marijuana prohibition. I’ve never given a public apology, because I’m not sorry when truth is exposed. Michael Phelps just helped prove the truthful point that even the world’s greatest athlete chooses to smoke pot. Do you think that these concerned parents know more about physical health than the 14 gold medal winning Olympic champion or the WWE champion for that matter? They do not. Watching the chemotherapy patients wasting away, while my wife was getting treated, is enough reason to be very pleased that the American policy just changed to acknowledge state’s rights to use medicinal marijuana. That’s huge after denying its benefits for decades. People are going to have to adjust to the new truth as they will learn it. While alcohol kills over 150,000 Americans every year and tobacco kills over 450,000… marijuana poisoning has killed zero. Stop the bullshit. Views will change and I am at the front of the movement.

“Officially”, you’re not a full-time wrestler anymore because you’ve got beaten up badly by Randy Orton. What’s your opinion on him?
Randy is a good kid. He grew up in the business, but doesn’t get by just his third generation status. He works hard and is the full package for a WWE product.

Would have you preferred someone else to share such an important moment in your career or has he been a good opponent?

He was fine. The focus was going with him anyway and my departure gave him some more momentum. That’s business. I wanted off the road so bad, I even went out with a “concussion”. From someone who prides himself in appearing indestructible his whole career, that was quite a sacrifice.

And now let’s move to 2009… You’ve been the biggest surprise in this year’s Royal Rumble! The crowd went nuts! Have you enjoyed those moments? Did you feel rusty on the ring or still in great shape?
The whole day was nothing but positive energy. It was nice to see everyone and it was great to have everyone see how good RVD is doing; there was a lot of positive energy generated when everyone saw how fantastic Sonya looks after what she went through. I felt just as awesome as always in the ring and it secured my value in the industry, as if it wasn’t already. The demand for a full time return is even stronger after the Rumble. Even if I’m not ready to return, it is good to be wanted, and I love further establishing myself as an exception. Other wrestlers that appeared on the tv show Hulk Hogan’s Celebrity Championship Wrestling were told they’d never work for WWE again. Not me. I know how to hold my value.

RVD outside WWE. First: weightlifting. There’s a technique you invented and it’s still named after you, the Van Dam Lift (executed performing a split between 2 benches). That seems a combination of strength and balance… How did you think of it?
I used to split between two chairs in the kitchen to excel in flexibility. Eventually, I would stand between two benches in the gym, and jump up to land in a split across both of them. It went from there to actually holding or lifting weight while in this position. I guess it’s a combination of challenging myself and showing off. I set the record lifting 166.5 lbs off the ground, while suspended off the ground by the 2 benches, but no one really challenged it.

You’ve also worked as a trainer for the wrestler who made me fall in love with wrestling… the legendary Ultimate Warrior! How was working with him? Is he as bizarre as all the rumours suggest?
Although I was ready to experience the bizarre train wreck everyone has come to expect, Warrior was nothing but respectful to me and I felt like we really clicked.

Do you use internet a lot? Can you explain us shortly what’s RVD TV?
I’ve had this reality show at robvandam.com going since I left WWE, capturing my life in Los Angeles with my crazy celebrity friends, workouts and random personal footage. I also bring the camera on the road when I take selected wrestling bookings, like the upcoming March trip to France.

You’ve been into memorable fights, but I’ve read your wife Sonya has recently won the biggest fight of them all, since she defeated cancer! You’ve quitted full-time wrestling to be her “ringside enforcer” in this “match”… Do you think your nearness has been important for her?
We have the best relationship I know of, and couldn’t get along without each other. She had to suffer through 6 months of chemotherapy and now that she’s done, we’re ready to enjoy life to the utmost extreme.

Well, we’re all glad she’s feeling much better… Plus, this means we’ll see you back to wrestling soon, right?
I miss showing off in the ring in front of thousands of people, but not enough to trade in my life at home for it, yet. It’s the non-stop travel that I’ve had enough of in the last 19 years or so. Still, I know I could come back and go straight to the top any day I wanted, and there’s a lot of contentment in that.

Have you had any phone calls with TNA during this time off?
The wrestling world keeps in contact with me. TNA, WWE and many others have their eyes on me and keep checking back with me to see if I’m ready to return to the ring… which translates to the road.

Well, I really like working as a model, I do it with pleasure, I’m a helpful girl and I’ve got no problems in doing anything.. And in what can you still improve?	It has to be my cheeky personality and the fact that I am far too honest for my own good! I’d say a very good one, I like myself just as I am, I’m not into diets, in fact I eat a lot and at every time… I love food! (she laughs) I cycle every day a little, for now I don’t feel the need to go to the gym or else! Obviously I use all my creams after a bath, in the morning, before make-up, etc… Ah, I’ve got to say this: I’m a manic of coordinating and matching, I like to keep everything neat and matched perfectly, shoes, bags and small accessories! My clothing is very ‘shocking’, all colourful and bright! I take care of my body the best I can, every single inch of it, especially my hair, that I adore in these years! I like to put make-up, especially at night with strong and dark colours (eye-shadow, mascara, black or white pencil, red or fuchsia lipstick, blusher, foundation, bronzing powder…); during the day, I use a light make-up instead! Lastly, I don’t go out if my eyebrows aren’t perfect!!	#2 What relation do you have with your appearance?	Blimey, where do I start? I love sunbeds, even though I know they’re bad, fake tan for when I’m lazy! (she laughs) Bio oil! It’s a must for stretch marks and bruises! All my make-up, fake eyelashes! I can’t do a shoot without those! I eat healthy and exercise a lot. (she smiles) I use clip-ins for when I give my hair a rest from extensions! I have to have long hair! (she laughs) My nails and toe nails! I hate myself without make-up, but I can just about deal with myself once my eyelashes go on!
I don’t dislike her at all, because she really looks as a special girl! Even if her photos are rather hot (that’s why I prefer her second shot), she has got a peculiar charm that makes her mysterious… I see transgression in her	#3 Look at your rival’s photos and tell us honestly the first opinion that comes to your mind	A stunning girl, but you need a cheeky blonde from the UK, I feel, especially one with massive baps! (she smiles)
I still hear from some of them, but just for Christmas greetings! (she laughs) Honestly I feel after a story there can’t be anything else, except in rare occasions! When it’s over, it’s over! For Heaven’s sake, I don’t hate anybody, but when times go by, a story becomes a memory and it’s not important for me to hear from my ex-boyfriend! We live in the present, not in the past!	#4 How are your relations with ex-boyfriends? Do you like to remain a friend of theirs or do you prefer not to see them again?	There are a couple of ex boyfriends I wish to never see, as they treated me so badly; a couple of my one night stands I still bump into, but I think because there was no real relationship, it isn’t the same, and we kinda swept it under the carpet… so I guess no, I don’t stay friend with exes
No and if somebody would catch me… Well, making love is a normal thing, so I wouldn’t be ashamed, on the contrary, I’d tell them to join! (she laughs) Just joking!	#5 Have you ever been caught by your parents or by someone else while you were having sex? How did you react or how would you react?	Oh dear God, once yes!!! By me, then fella’s younger brother just marched in the room, while I was on top… He got his socks, stared, then walked out… I was mortified! And I also got caught at a car park. (no, I wasn’t dogging!) Some people walking their dog got an eyeful of my baps on the driver’s seat (she smiles)
